Security Officer, Armed Patrol Unit (Part‑time)Location: Hartford, CT
Pay Rate: $23.76 / Hour
Schedule: Tue, Thu, Fri 08:45 AM – 04:15 PM
About the RoleAs a Security Officer Armed Patrol Unit, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions. This part‑time position allows you to build a schedule that works for you while providing routine patrols, visibility to deter incidents, and support for a professional atmosphere through strong communication and customer service.
What You’ll Do- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and public emergency responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility, lobby areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor information, and report unusual behavior, unsecured access points, and policy violations according to site guidelines.
- Support cash handling, opening and closing activities, and other sensitive operations by maintaining a visible presence and following post orders, chain of custody practices, and security‑related procedures.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Eligible for consideration even with prior criminal history per applicable laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participation in industry‑specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
- Valid driver’s license required only for driving positions.
