As a Truck Driver Associate, you will play a critical role in our daily operations, ensuring products are delivered safely, on time, and with exceptional customer service.
Driving & Delivery Responsibilities- Operate company‑owned and leased Class A trucks to deliver and pick up building materials.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet timely service goals.
- Drive safely in varying weather and road conditions across our service territory.
- Maintain compliance with DOT hours‑of‑service regulations.
- Represent Parksite with professionalism and courtesy during every customer interaction.
- Communicate effectively with customers, warehouse staff, and dispatch.
- Use proper tie‑down techniques, including winch and ratchet strap systems, chains, binders, and edge protection.
- Operate side‑curtain wall systems and ensure proper weight distribution and balance.
- Protect materials from weather and road debris during transit and verify load security before departure.
- Handle specialized building materials such as lumber, plywood, panels, and engineered products.
- Assist with hand loading and unloading of building materials (50+ lbs. regularly, up to 90 lbs. occasionally).
- Operate forklifts when required to support warehouse operations.
- Use proper lifting techniques and material‑handling equipment.
- Coordinate with receiving personnel at customer locations.
- Conduct post‑trip inspections and complete DOT inspection reports.
- Monitor fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, brakes, and safety equipment.
- Report mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness of cab and truck exterior and ensure all required documentation is current.
- Perform comprehensive pre‑trip inspections daily.
- Maintain accurate driver logs in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Document proof of delivery and customer signatures.
- Record mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance activities.
- Submit required reports to dispatch and management.
- Maintain electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Wear proper PPE, including steel‑toed boots, safety glasses, and gloves.
- Follow all safety rules and procedures as outlined in the company manual.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Report safety hazards, incidents, or near‑misses immediately.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while providing exceptional customer service.
- Follow instructions from the Operations Manager and dispatch coordinators.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse and office teams to meet delivery schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall logistics operations.
- Maintain a positive, customer‑focused attitude.
- Act in accordance with company procedures.
- Valid CDL Class A license (current and in good standing).
- Minimum 3 years of professional commercial driving experience.
- Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations.
- Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT medical card).
- Basic math skills for calculating distances, fuel consumption, and delivery schedules.
