Truck Driver Associate

Parksite, a 100% employee‑owned company, seeks an experienced and safety‑focused Truck Driver Associate to join our growing logistics operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional Class A drivers to build a long‑term career in the wholesale building materials industry.

As a Truck Driver Associate, you will play a critical role in daily operations, ensuring products are delivered safely, on time, and with exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

Driving & Delivery

  • Operate Company‑owned and leased Class A trucks to deliver and pick up building materials.
  • Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to ensure timely service.
  • Drive safely in varying weather and road conditions.
  • Maintain strict compliance with DOT hours of service regulations.
  • Represent Parksite with professionalism during all customer interactions.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, warehouse staff, and dispatch.

Load Securement & Cargo Management

  • Secure loads using winch and ratchet strap systems, chains, binders, and edge protection.
  • Operate side‑curtain wall systems for cargo protection.
  • Ensure proper weight distribution and balance for safe transport.
  • Protect materials from weather and road debris during transit.
  • Verify load security before departure and during trip inspections.
  • Handle specialized building materials such as lumber, plywood, panels, and engineered products.

Physical Material Handling

  • Assist with hand loading and unloading of building materials (50+ lbs. regularly; up to 90 lbs. occasionally).
  • Operate forklifts when required.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment.
  • Ensure materials are delivered without damage.
  • Coordinate with receiving personnel at customer locations.

Vehicle Maintenance & Inspection

  • Conduct post‑trip inspections and report findings.
  • Complete required DOT inspection reports and documentation.
  • Check fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, brakes, and safety equipment.
  • Report mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of cab and truck exterior.
  • Perform comprehensive pre‑trip inspections daily.

Regulatory Compliance & Record‑Keeping

  • Maintain accurate driver logs in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Document proof of delivery and customer signatures.
  • Record mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records.

Safety & Professionalism

  • Wear proper PPE, including steel‑toed boots, safety glasses, and gloves.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures as outlined in the company manual.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Report safety hazards, incidents, or near‑misses immediately.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Provide exceptional customer service as the face of Parksite.

General Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions from Operations Manager and dispatch coordinators.
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse and office teams to meet delivery schedules.
  • Perform other duties assigned to support overall logistics operations.
  • Maintain a positive, customer‑focused attitude.
  • Act in accordance with policies set forth in the company procedures manual.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid CDL Class A license (current and in good standing).
  • Minimum 3 years of professional commercial driving experience.
  • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record with no major violations.
  • Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT medical card).
Essential Skills
  • Basic math skills: ability to calculate distances, fuel consumption, and delivery schedules.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, bills of lading, route maps, and DOT regulations.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
