Bus Driver

Community Center

To provide comprehensive and efficient transportation for the Town’s elderly and/or disabled residents by driving a handicapped-accessible van and/or bus up to 20 passengers.

• Provide transportation of passengers for scheduled activities at Senior Center, shopping trips, daily lunch program, medical appointments, etc. Routes change daily.
• Operate handicapped-accessible van and/or bus up to 20 passengers.
• Safely operate handicap-accessible lift when necessary.

• Routine vehicle maintenance, including checking and adding oil and other vehicle fluid levels, reporting mechanical problems to the garage mechanic, and performing light routine cleaning of the buses.

Human Services Directors or departmental designee.

• Safe driving record.
• Ability to deal with a diverse elderly and/or disabled population.
• Flexibility.
• Ability to lift weights up to 20 lbs.

Connecticut Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with P & F endorsements.

$20 per hour, 20 to 24 hours per week. No benefits.
