Overview
The Warehouse Associate will operate a forklift in our distribution center and pick orders and provide excellent customer service to clientele. The associate will also assist with shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in merchandise, among other duties. We are a distributor of lumber and building materials; our warehouse associates work outdoors regardless of weather with the proper Personal Protective Equipment.
SummaryResponsible for acting in accordance with the policies outlined in the current procedures manual. Receives, stores, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products within Parksite Warehouse by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Pick orders using VoCollect, the leader in voice-selecting technology.
- Interacts with Customers for loading orders or helping select product.
- Band, wrap and label orders in preparation of shipment.
- Load flatbed trailers in accordance of route and stop.
- Ensure that product is well secured on vehicle/truck and takes all necessary safety measures
- Receive and record amounts of materials or items received and put away to the assigned inventory location.
- Assists with shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing to appropriate associates for processing.
- Reads customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be picked, checked, and shipped.
- SKU label new inbound items and moves them from receiving to storage areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Ensures the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
- Maintains a clean, well-organized, safe working environment.
- Assists in counting physical inventory and conducting regular cycle counts.
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed, including sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
- Prepares parcels for mailing or Fed Ex delivery.
- Utilizes proper safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Performs additional duties as required and or requested.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Three months or more related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Forklift, crane, and warehouse experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
- Customer facing experience
- Lumber/Building product experience.
- Receiving experience.
- Inventory control experience.
