Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager:
Exports – Chemical Products to drive growth across Sub-Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa). The role focuses on developing new export markets, managing key customer relationships, and delivering sales and margin targets across multiple African countries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales volume, revenue, and margin targets
  • Identify and develop new export markets and customers
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and close deals
  • Build and maintain strong customer and distributor relationships
  • Conduct regular customer visits and quarterly business reviews
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and growth opportunities
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events
  • Liaise with internal sales, supply chain, finance, and technical teams
  • Support OTIF delivery performance and demand forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with export documentation and controls
Minimum Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, or related field
  • 6–8 years’ experience in export sales and business development
  • Proven track record across Sub‑Saharan / East Africa
  • Experience in industrial adhesives, chemicals, or technical products
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Proficient in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Willing and able to travel extensively
