Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire an Actuarial Analyst.

This role focuses on profitability analysis while also providing exposure to a broad range of actuarial functions, including reinsurance, capital management, and IFRS 17 reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic business objectives by delivering insightful analysis and contributing to critical business decisions within a dynamic and rewarding environment.

  • Create reports and views using SQL and Power BI for analysis purposes and business reporting
  • Analyse and interpret data, including identifying trends and deep diving into the details
  • Communicate findings clearly through reports, visualisations, and presentations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Perform ad hoc investigations and analysis as required by business stakeholder
  • Drive improvements in automation and integration of risk systems and reporting processes.
  • Develop and maintain management information reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science.
  • Progress toward or completion of A100 and A200 exams.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the short-term insurance industry.
  • Strong mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Python (automation, modelling) and SQL (database management)
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (Power BI)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptable, innovative, and inquisitive mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Organised, with strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Policy, product, and short-term insurance industry knowledge.
