Chief Financial Officer; CFO

Our client in the Transport and Logistics sector is seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their leadership team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic finance leader to play a pivotal role in driving business performance, sustainable growth, and long-term value creation across our operations. As CFO, you will be responsible for the overall financial stewardship of the organisation, providing strategic guidance to the CEO and Board while ensuring financial excellence, robust governance, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will be a commercially astute leader with a proven ability to navigate complex business environments, drive profitability, and support expansion initiatives. The position is based onsite in Benoni; however, the incumbent will be required to travel regularly to Zambia in line with operational and business requirements.

• Minimum of 10 years' senior financial management experience, including experience at CFO, Finance Director, or equivalent executive level.
• Demonstrated success in financial strategy, corporate finance, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, and business transformation.
• Proven experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and growth initiatives.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, financial regulations, and accounting standards.

• Develop and execute the organisation's financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board on all financial matters.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.

• Drive financial modelling, scenario planning, and business performance analysis.
• Deliver actionable insights to enhance profitability, efficiency, and decision-making.
• Monitor key financial indicators and recommend strategic interventions.

• Oversee all accounting, tax, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance functions.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and reporting processes.
• Lead internal and external audits while maintaining the highest standards of governance.

• Develop and maintain effective financial controls and risk management frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and corporate governance requirements.
• Safeguard organisational assets through robust policies and oversight.

• Manage cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and funding requirements.
• Optimise capital structure and oversee debt and investment strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, investors, and key stakeholders.

• Lead financial due diligence and evaluation of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments.
• Support business expansion through sound financial analysis and execution.
• Identify emerging market opportunities and assess investment potential.

• Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing finance team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Drive succession planning and professional development across the finance function.

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• MBA, Master's Degree, or equivalent postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
• CPA, CA(SA), CFA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
