Financial Manager / Group Accountant - Somerset West Duties & Responsibilities

A dynamic and rapidly growing property investment group is seeking an experienced Financial Manager / Group Accountant to take ownership of the full financial function across multiple entities. This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited to a technically strong finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, commercial environment.

• Oversee and mentor an accountant, providing technical accounting guidance and ensuring high-quality outputs.
• Review monthly management accounts for all entities within the group.
• Review VAT reconciliations and manage the submission of VAT
  201s via SARS e-Filing for approximately 11 entities.
• Prepare taxable income calculations
  , including deferred tax reconciliations
  .
• Oversee and submit provisional tax and income tax returns for all group entities.
• Ensure accurate cash flow management
  , balance sheet integrity, and financial compliance.
• Lead the preparation of annual audit packs and liaise with external auditors.
• Support the development of budgets, forecasts
  , and the consolidation of group financial results.
• Identify process improvements and implement strong financial controls.

• CA(SA) – Essential
• 2–5 years post-articles experience in a financial management or group accounting role.
• Strong technical proficiency in IFRS, tax, consolidations, and financial reporting.
• Experience managing multiple entities and high-volume financial processes.
• Exposure to the property or investment sector is advantageous but not essential.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems orientation.
