A well‑established and growing group of three interconnected businesses operating within the building products, manufacturing and construction supply sector is seeking to appoint a proactive and commercially minded Group Financial Manager.
This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of the full financial function across the group, working closely with management to support strategic decision‑making, financial planning, and operational performance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the complete accounting cycle across the group, ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing meaningful financial insights that support business growth and profitability.
The position may be based in either the Paarl or Malmesbury area. Malmesbury serves as the group’s head office and operational centre, and the successful candidate will be expected to spend approximately two to three days per week visiting the various business premises. The remainder of the work may be performed remotely, offering an attractive level of flexibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Management of the full accounting and financial function for three related entities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Financial analysis and performance reporting
- Oversight of debtors, creditors, inventory‑related financial controls, and general ledger functions
- Preparation of annual financial statements and audit support
- Tax compliance, statutory submissions, and regulatory reporting
- Financial controls, process improvement, and risk management
Liaison with external auditors, advisors, bankers, and other stakeholders - Supporting management with strategic and operational financial decision‑making
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies, reporting processes, and financial performance across the group
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Completed SAICA, SAIPA, or CIMA articles will be highly advantageous
- Proven experience of approximately 3–5 years post articles in a full‑function accounting or financial management role
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial modelling capabilities
- Experience with in manufacturing, building products, construction supply, distribution, or related industries will be advantageous
- Advanced Excel and accounting systems proficiency
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
- A proactive, self‑driven individual with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
