Financial Manager

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Financial Manager to join a well-established, JSE‑listed mining group at one of its open‑cast mining operations based in Mbombela
. This is far more than a traditional finance role. As the financial leader on site, you will partner closely with operational management to ensure the financial sustainability of the mine, provide strategic commercial insight, and lead a capable finance team in delivering accurate reporting, sound governance, and operational excellence. • Lead the full financial function for the mining operation, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Partner with operational management to provide commercial insights that improve productivity, profitability and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, taxation, statutory requirements, internal controls and corporate governance.
• Manage month‑end, year‑end reporting, audits and stakeholder reporting.
• Lead, mentor and develop the on‑site finance team while driving a high‑performance culture.
• Oversee cash flow management, capital expenditure, cost analysis and financial risk management.
• Support strategic business initiatives and provide financial input on operational decision‑making.

• CA(SA) qualification is non‑negotiable.

• Minimum 5‑8 years’ post‑articles finance experience.
• Proven financial management experience within an open‑cast mining environment is essential.
• Demonstrated experience managing finance teams and developing people.
• Strong exposure to operational finance, budgeting, forecasting, cost control and business partnering.
• Experience with in a listed or large corporate mining environment will be advantageous.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical ability.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence operational and executive decision‑making.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, taxation and corporate governance.
