Financial Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and oversee monthly accounting processes and financial reporting
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information across multiple entities
• Review reconciliations, journals, management accounts and supporting schedules
• Manage month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Assist with annual financial statements and statutory reporting requirements
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Monitor working capital and liquidity requirements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation and internal controls
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, banks and external stakeholders

• Lead, mentor and develop members of the finance team
• Review work prepared by junior finance staff and provide guidance where required
• Improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiencies
• Drive accountability and financial discipline throughout the organisation

• Partner with executive management on financial and operational decision-making
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth
• Analyse profitability, margins, costs and business performance
• Develop meaningful management information and performance dashboards
• Evaluate new business opportunities, projects and investments
• Participate in strategic planning, forecasting and business improvement initiatives
• Assist with mergers, acquisitions, expansion projects or special assignments where required

• Newly qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or CIMA qualification
• Or Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles
• And 3 – 5 years' post-article experience preferred
• Strong financial accounting and management reporting experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting and forecasting
• Experience working across multiple entities will be advantageous
• Experience with in professional services, healthcare, financial services or multi-entity environments will be beneficial

• Strong technical accounting ability
• Commercially minded with strong business acumen
• Hands-on and willing to operate at both strategic and operational levels
• Analytical and detail-oriented
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the business
