Location: Durbanville
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and oversee monthly accounting processes and financial reporting
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information across multiple entities
- Review reconciliations, journals, management accounts and supporting schedules
- Manage month-end and year-end reporting processes
- Assist with annual financial statements and statutory reporting requirements
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Monitor working capital and liquidity requirements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation and internal controls
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, banks and external stakeholders
- Lead, mentor and develop members of the finance team
- Review work prepared by junior finance staff and provide guidance where required
- Improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiencies
- Drive accountability and financial discipline throughout the organisation
- Partner with executive management on financial and operational decision-making
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth
- Analyse profitability, margins, costs and business performance
- Develop meaningful management information and performance dashboards
- Evaluate new business opportunities, projects and investments
- Participate in strategic planning, forecasting and business improvement initiatives
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, expansion projects or special assignments where required
- Newly qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or CIMA qualification
- Or Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles
- And 3 – 5 years' post-article experience preferred
- Strong financial accounting and management reporting experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting and forecasting
- Experience working across multiple entities will be advantageous
- Experience with in professional services, healthcare, financial services or multi-entity environments will be beneficial
- Strong technical accounting ability
- Commercially minded with strong business acumen
- Hands-on and willing to operate at both strategic and operational levels
- Analytical and detail-oriented
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the business
- Proactive, self-driven and solutions focused
- High levels of integrity, accountability and professionalism
