????????? is recruiting on behalf of a leading luxury safari operator in Mpumalanga, for an experienced and commercially astute ???????. Our client operates a world-class luxury lodge in the Kruger National Park area, combining exceptional guest experiences with a commitment to conservation. With strong financial infrastructure and high standards across all operations, this is a property that takes its numbers as seriously as its hospitality.

This is a senior role for someone who brings both technical accounting rigour and a genuine understanding of how lodges work. Working closely with the CFO, the Lodge Finance Manager takes full ownership of the financial and administrative function for the lodge. This encompasses financial reporting, month-end processes, budget and cash flow management, General Ledger oversight, audit facilitation, CAPEX coordination, revenue tracking, petty cash and forex management, and ongoing liaison with department heads and head office.

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable interpreting a general ledger as they are presenting variance analysis to senior leadership. ????????????

Responsibilities
  • Financial reporting, month-end processes, budget and cash flow management, General Ledger oversight, audit facilitation, CAPEX coordination, revenue tracking, petty cash and forex management, and ongoing liaison with department heads and head office.
  • Present variance analysis to senior leadership and interpret the general ledger.
Qualifications
  • Financial or Hospitality qualification; a relevant degree is preferred at this level.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar senior finance role, ideally within the luxury hospitality or lodge environment.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and sound knowledge of lodge finance processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in corporate income tax, VAT, and PAYE regulations, submissions, and calculations.
  • High degree of computer literacy with a working knowledge of Property Management Systems.
  • Experience with procurement systems; prior implementation of financial management and procurement systems advantageous.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking — able to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven track record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Accurate work ethic with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of inventory management beneficial.
  • Project management skills advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
  • Passion for the industry and for conservation.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Permanent, lodge-based position in Mpumalanga.
