Finance Officer at Lesotho Public Procurement Authority Job Purpose
To provide integrated technical finance support across financial accounting and management accounting, and to ensure transaction processing, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting support and control activities are delivered accurately, efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures.

Responsibilities & Duties- Coordinates and reviews routine finance transactions, journals, reconciliations, schedules and supporting documentation before submission to the Finance Manager.
- Supervises Finance Assistants and provides practical guidance on document handling, data capture, filing, payment support and transaction workflow requirements.
- Supports budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, variance analysis and preparation of management information for the Finance Manager and budget holders.
- Maintains finance registers, reconciliations, working papers and audit support schedules in accordance with approved procedures and reporting timelines.
- Checks completeness, accuracy and traceability of source documents, vouchers, invoices, receipts and payment support records.
- Assists with month-end, quarter-end and year-end finance processes, including reconciliations, accrual support, schedules and supporting analysis.
- Applies internal controls, identifies processing gaps or documentation weaknesses, and escalates exceptions or irregularities to the Finance Manager.
- Supports use of approved financial systems and promotes orderly records management, data quality and audit readiness.
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, General Accountant or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, reporting, transaction processing or audit support roles.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing reconciliations, schedules, journals, analytical reports, transaction support records or financial working papers and applying finance controls in practice.

- Ability to support efficient finance workflow execution.
