A client-focused financial compliance and advisory practice is seeking an accurate, efficient, and detail-oriented Tax Administrator to join their team. This is a permanent, full-time, office-based role (08h00 to 17h00, Monday to Friday) with some flexibility offered around lunch hours.
The practice services individuals, SMMEs, and entrepreneurs, providing tailored tax compliance and advisory solutions. This role is ideal for someone who already understands practical tax administration and SARS eFiling processes and can hit the ground running with minimal training.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate client files, supporting tax compliance processes, liaising with SARS and clients, and contributing to the smooth running and growth of the practice.
Responsibilities:Tax Administration
- Maintain and update SARS eFiling profiles for individuals, trusts, and companies.
- Assist with IT12, IT14, IRP6, EMP
201, EMP
501, VAT
201, and DWT returns. - Manage client tax queries, verifications, and correspondence via calls, appointments, and eFiling.
- Process eFiling registrations and applications (VAT, Public Officer, PAYE, Customs codes, APNs, Nonresident tax status, tax directives, debt compromises, objections, remissions, and payment plans).
- Generate and send annual tax compliance certificates and PINs.
- Manage tax disputes and payment allocations.
- Add taxpayers to eFiling profiles and set up shared access.
- Process and evaluate SARS assessments for individual and company tax.
Office & Client Support
- Support the Managing Director with day-to-day tax administration.
- Organise and maintain meticulous client records on One Drive and Microsoft Teams.
- Track tasks in MS Teams and ensure all work is accurately documented.
- Assist in onboarding new clients and maintaining structured digital files.
- Matric essential;
Diploma or Certificate in Taxation preferred. - Minimum 3 years’ experience in a tax administrative role.
- Strong working knowledge of SARS processes and eFiling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Highly accurate, organised, and efficient.
- Able to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
