Assistant Financial Controller

Our client, a well-established leader within the hospitality industry, is seeking an experienced and hands‑on Assistant Financial Controller to join their finance team in Somerset West. • Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and provide finance administration support.
• Compile and manage HR and payroll‑related reports.
• Supervise and manage finance staff, ensuring deadlines and responsibilities are effectively managed.
• Perform costing activities and provide accurate financial information to support operational decisions.
• Process and manage customer and operational refunds.
• Manage accounts and ensure accurate financial records are maintained.
• Assist with month‑end processes and financial reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and procedures.
• Work closely with operational teams to resolve financial queries and improve processes.

• BCom Finance, Accounting, or a related financial qualification is essential.
• Previous experience within a finance or accounting environment is required.
• Hospitality experience will be highly advantageous.
• Proven experience with financial reporting and administration.
• Experience managing or supervising staff is essential.
• Strong costing and accounts management experience.
• SAP experience is essential.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
