Live-In Guesthouse Host

Overview

We are looking for an energetic, reliable, and hands‑on Live‑in Guesthouse Host to join our team. This is not an office‑based position or a desk job. You will live on the property and play a key role in creating exceptional guest experiences while assisting with all aspects of the daily operations of the guesthouse.

• Welcome guests and manage check‑ins and check‑outs.
• Deliver exceptional guest service and professionally handle guest requests and concerns.
• Manage the complete guest experience from arrival to departure.
• Prepare and serve breakfast to a high standard.
• Oversee kitchen operations and maintain food service standards.
• Purchase breakfast supplies and manage stock levels.
• Work alongside, support, and guide the housekeeping team.
• Allocate daily staff duties and assist with staff training.
• Conduct regular room and property inspections.
• Manage reservations and bookings using Nights Bridge.
• Coordinate daily guest logistics and operational requirements.
• Ensure the property is always clean, neat, and well presented.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as changing bulbs and minor repairs.
• Be available after hours when required.
• Live on the property as the on‑site host.

• Previous experience in a guesthouse, hotel, or hospitality environment is an advantage.
• Good culinary knowledge and confidence in preparing and serving breakfast.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and able to communicate professionally in English.
• Good computer skills and experience with Nights Bridge is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Hands‑on, adaptable, and operationally driven.
• Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail.

The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and guest service. You are practical, hardworking, and willing to assist wherever needed. You lead through action rather than instruction and take pride in creating memorable guest experiences. This role is not suited for those who prefer a desk job or simply supervising others.

• Live‑in accommodation on the property, including water/electricity (solar), wifi, and breakfast.
• Salary R12 000 plus commission.
• Two nights a month at our beachfront guesthouse.

The position will start as soon as possible, but no later than 1 August 2026.
