Location: Mpumalanga

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives in a busy, high‑end lodge environment and takes real pride in maintaining five‑star standards across guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house and laundry. You'll need to be equally comfortable managing people, budgets and stock, while staying calm and solutions‑focused under pressure.

Core Criteria:
  • 5 years' experience in luxury hospitality housekeeping
  • At least 2 years' experience managing a housekeeping department within a five‑star lodge, hotel or luxury property
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
  • Experience with HMS Infor and Sage is an advantage
  • Solid organisational skills with experience in cost and inventory control
  • Excellent command of English, written and spoken
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate a large team
  • Cultural sensitivity and patience when working with colleagues from different backgrounds
  • A hands‑on, proactive approach with high attention to detail
  • Flexible, solution‑oriented mindset and a realistic understanding of remote bush life
Candidate Responsibilities:
  • Uphold five‑star housekeeping standards across all guest and back‑of‑house areas
  • Manage and schedule a team of around 20 housekeeping staff fairly and efficiently
  • Ensure full compliance with operational and health and safety standards
  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms, public areas and laundry facilities
  • Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing training and feedback
  • Oversee housekeeping stock and equipment, maintaining par levels at all times
  • Manage departmental budgets with a strong focus on cost control
  • Coordinate special guest requests relevant to the department
  • Review and respond to guest feedback, resolving complaints where needed
  • Liaise closely with other departments to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations
