Camp Manager & Trails Guide

Location: Musina

A private safari camp in Musina, Limpopo is seeking an experienced Management Couple to take responsibility for the smooth running of the camp and the overall guest experience.

The ideal couple will bring complementary skills, with one partner responsible for Camp Management and professional Chef duties, and the other responsible for Trail Guiding, with the ability to also assist with advertising and social media.

If a suitable couple is not available, the two positions will be considered separately and suitable individual applicants are welcome to apply.

REQUIREMENTS:

• RSA  legal residence essential
• Previous experience in a safari lodge or camp environment
• Proven camp or lodge management experience
• Strong professional Chef experience with the ability to independently manage all food preparation and kitchen operations
• Recognised Chef qualification advantageous
• Relevant guiding qualifications and proven trail guiding experience
• Strong knowledge of wildlife, fauna, flora, and the bush environment
• Excellent guest relations and hosting skills
• Strong leadership and organisational abilities
• Experience with social media and advertising advantageous
• Valid Driver's Licence and own reliable vehicle essential
• Ability to work independently in a bush environment
• Hands-on approach and willingness to assist across the camp

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

CAMP MANAGER / CHEF

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the camp
• Manage staff and daily camp operations
• Host guests and ensure an exceptional guest experience
• Take full responsibility for food preparation and the delivery of quality meals to guests
• Plan menus and prepare meals according to lodge requirements
• Manage food stock, ordering, food costs, hygiene, and cleanliness
• Maintain high culinary and presentation standards
• Assist with general camp duties where required

TRAIL GUIDE / SOCIAL MEDIA

• Conduct guided walking trails and bush experiences
• Ensure guest safety during all guided activities
• Provide engaging and informative interpretation of the bush and wildlife
• Assist with guest hosting and camp activities
• Assist with the camp's advertising and social media
• Develop and maintain the camp's social media presence
• Assist with general camp operations when required

PACKAGE:

• Salary Negotiable (DOE)
