Guest Experience Host / Hostess | F&B

Babylonstoren is looking for a warm, polished and guest-focused Guest Experience Host / Hostess to join our F&B team.

This role is often the first point of contact for our restaurant guests and plays an important part in creating a calm, welcoming and well-organised arrival experience. The successful candidate must enjoy working with people, notice small details and communicate confidently with guests, managers and the service team.

Key responsibilities:

• Welcome guests in a warm, professional and natural manner.

• Manage guest arrivals, seating and table flow during service.

• Support the restaurant team with bookings, guest notes, special requests and seating preferences.

• Communicate clearly with managers and waiters regarding VIP guests, celebrations, dietary requirements and special arrangements.

• Assist with telephone enquiries, restaurant information and general guest questions where required.

• Help maintain a calm and organised guest flow during busy service periods.
• Support managers by identifying potential guest concerns early and communicating them promptly.
• Ensure the entrance, host area and guest-facing spaces are neat, calm and in line with Babylonstoren's standards.
• Assist with basic guest follow-up and internal communication where needed.
• Work closely with the wider F&B team to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant hosting, hotel reception, reservations or a similar guest-facing role will be advantageous.
• Excellent Afrikaans and English.
• Warm, professional and well-presented.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• Comfortable working with local and international guests.
• Willingness to work hospitality hours, including weekends, public holidays and evenings where required.
• Own or reliable transport is essential.
