Hospitality Excellence Manager required in Franschhoek.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, tasting centre, and kitchen to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Lead, schedule, train, and develop the hospitality team across front-of-house, tasting, and kitchen operations.
- Maintain high standards of service, food quality, wine presentation, cleanliness, and overall facilities.
- Manage reservations, guest flow, and day-to-day operational requirements.
- Build strong guest relationships and professionally resolve queries, feedback, and complaints.
- Manage stock, purchasing, suppliers, wastage, breakages, and cost of sales.
- Assist with menu, wine tasting, pricing, and seasonal experience development.
- Manage hospitality budgets, expenditure, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety, liquor licensing, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate hospitality events, special functions, trade visits, and VIP experiences.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to promote and develop the hospitality offering.
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' hospitality experience, including supervisory or management experience.
- Strong experience in restaurant and food & beverage operations, including kitchen coordination.
- Wine estate, tasting room, or premium hospitality experience advantageous.
- Good local and international wine knowledge advantageous.
- Strong leadership, people management, and organisational skills.
- Sound commercial understanding of budgeting, stock control, and cost management.
- Excellent guest relations, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and liquor legislation.
- Proficient in POS and reservation systems;
Pilot experience advantageous. - Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
