Houseman

This role forms part of the housekeeping team at The Farmhouse Hotel, within the Village n Life hospitality group.

As a Houseman you'll support the housekeeping team with physical tasks and ensure public areas, rooms and facilities are maintained to Village n Life standards. You'll assist with cleaning, maintenance, garden upkeep and guest requests, helping create a well-kept and welcoming environment.

• Clean public areas, rooms, bathrooms and storerooms
• Maintain the pool and outdoor areas
• Carry linens, towels, toiletries and cleaning supplies
• Move furniture, turn mattresses and polish furniture and equipment
• Sweep, scrub, wax and polish floors as required
• Clean carpets, rugs, draperies and upholstery with appropriate equipment
• Wash windows, walls and woodwork, waxing and polishing where needed
• Maintain gardens by sweeping and removing dead plants
• Keep storage areas stocked, tidy and sanitary
• Record and report maintenance issues and follow up on repairs
• Follow procedures for safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Assist with guest requests and communicate them to management
• Respect guest privacy and report any damaged or lost items

• Grade 12 (advantageous)
• Minimum 6 months' experience in a similar role (advantageous)
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and follow cleaning procedures
• Strong attention to detail and physical stamina
• Dependable, adaptable and guest-focused
• Honest, respectful and able to communicate effectively with management
• Team player with a willingness to work overtime when required
