About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and energetic Bar Manager to oversee operations at their popular establishment in Benoni . This role is pivotal in ensuring a vibrant atmosphere, excellent service, and high-quality beverage offerings. You will be responsible for managing inventory, staff, maintaining standards, controlling costs, and creating an inviting environment for guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about mixology, customer service, and possesses strong leadership skills to motivate their team.

• Manage daily bar operations, including staffing, inventory, ordering, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain an exciting and profitable beverage menu, including signature cocktails and wine lists.
• Supervise, train, and schedule bar staff, ensuring high levels of service and adherence to policies.
• Control inventory and costs associated with beverages and supplies to maximize profitability.
• Ensure compliance with all liquor licensing laws, health, and safety regulations.
• Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere, engaging with guests and resolving any issues promptly.
• Implement promotions and special events to drive bar revenue.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in bar management or a supervisory role within a busy bar/restaurant.
• In-depth knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and beer, with creative mixology skills.
• Proven experience in inventory management, cost control, and staff supervision.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A strong understanding of responsible service of alcohol practices.
