Tasting Room Assistant Manager

Tasting Room Assistant Manager – Durbanville, Cape Town.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver excellent customer service and ensure guests have a positive experience.
• Welcome guests and handle customer queries or complaints.
• Drive and manage wine sales.
• Conduct wine tastings and promote products.
• Manage stock takes for wine, tasting stock and kitchen supplies.
• Restock retail shelves and fridges.
• Open and prepare the tasting room for daily trading.
• Manage cash float and POS system operations.
• Ensure the tasting room is clean, organised and fully operational.
• Complete end-of-day closing procedures and security checks.
• Oversee kitchen rosters and maintain cleanliness standards.
• Monitor the condition of bathrooms, kitchen and customer areas.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in hospitality, wine sales, customer service or a tasting room environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Sales-driven with the ability to promote and sell products.
• Experience with stock control and inventory management.
• Ability to operate a POS system and handle cash.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work weekends, public holidays and flexible shifts.
• Professional, friendly and well-presented.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
