Lodge or Camp Manager

Duties

• Maintaining the deeply personal, “at-home” guest experience for which the lodge is celebrated
• Overseeing recruitment, inductions, onboarding and performance management
• Effective financial oversight through stock control and order administration
• Ensuring the highest standards of housekeeping, maintenance and gardening
• Managing concierge and reception operations.
• Responsible for equipment and product quality
• Seamless interdepartmental communication
• Active participation in the lodge’s sustainability objectives and conservation purpose.

• Grade 12
• A formal hospitality qualification
• A minimum of 6 years’ hospitality management experience
• Proven track record in a 5
  * lodge or internationally recognised luxury hotel environment.
• Outstanding service standards and a genuine passion for the luxury hospitality industry.
• Thorough Food & Beverage knowledge, including product terminology and preparation methods; an awareness of dietary requirements and allergies is essential.
• Sound financial management ability, including stock control and order administration.
• Excellent command of English; proficiency in a second language would be advantageous.
• Strong management and communication skills with a developmental, empowering approach to leading and growing a team.
• A solid understanding of housekeeping and maintenance procedures and standards.
• Knowledge of basic labour law, disciplinary procedures and HR best practices.
• Good computer literacy and sound reporting ability.
• An awareness of current trends and developments within the luxury lodge and food industries.
• An assertive, patient and highly organised individual with exceptional attention to detail.
• A hardworking, cooperative nature and calm demeanour under pressure.
• A valid Driver’s licence.
