About the Role

Our client, a premier events venue located in Nelspruit , is seeking a skilled and experienced Banquet Chef to lead its banquet operations. This role is perfect for a culinary professional who excels in high-volume production and creative menu execution for a variety of functions, including weddings, conferences, and corporate galas. You will be responsible for managing the banquet kitchen team, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation for large-scale events.

• Oversee the preparation and execution of all banquet menus, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery for large events.
• Manage, train, and mentor the banquet kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Develop and implement creative banquet menus, working closely with the catering sales team and clients to meet diverse needs and preferences.
• Control food costs, manage inventory, and maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in the banquet kitchen.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order and that safety protocols are strictly followed.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Banquet Chef or in a similar high-volume culinary role.
• Proven experience in menu development and execution for large-scale events.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation practices.
