Shonalanga Lodge is looking for an experienced hospitality professional, guest-focused Front Office Administrator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will handle daily front desk operations and provide exceptional customer service to our guests.
- Maintain bookings and guest information.
- Monitor staff attendance and leave records.
- Ensure accounts are upto dates and relevant follow-ups done regularly.
- Report and follow up on maintenance issues.
- Manage petty cash, receipts and basic operational administration.
- Liaise with suppliers and service providers.
- Assist with staff onboarding, training and performance monitoring.
- Help ensure lodge standards and procedures are maintained.
- A minimum of 2–3 years’ practical hospitality experience in a hotel, guesthouse, lodge or similar accommodation establishment.
- Previous experience supervising staff or taking responsibility for day-to-day operations.
- Experience dealing directly with guests.
- Good administrative and organisational skills.
- Good computer literacy.
- Experience with accommodation booking system.
- A formal qualification in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism Management or a related field will be an advantage.
Experience with Nights Bridge will also be an advantage.
Relevant practical hospitality experience is an essential requirement for this position.
WHO WILL SUIT THIS ROLE?- Software Skills – Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- System knowledge – Previous experience with Nightsbridge, or Xero is highly advantageous.
- Languages – Fully fluent in both English and Afrikaans (written and spoken).
- Leadership & Care – Able to manage staff and maintain stock controls efficiently.
- Work Style – Fast learner who thrives under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Industry Experience – Previous experience in the hospitality sector is advantageous.
- Personal Presentation – Must be exceptionally neat, professional and well groomed.

This role would particularly suit someone currently working as a lodge Front Office Supervisor, Reservations Supervisor, Receptionist who is ready for the next step.
WORKING HOURSThis is a non-live-in position.
This position operates on alternating weekly shifts:
Week 1 – Monday to Friday 13:00 – 20:00 | Saturday & Sunday 06:00 – 19:00
Week 2 – Monday to Friday 06:00 – 13:00 | Weekend Off
Public Holidays – Required to work every second public holiday.
