Job Description Head Guide | Luxury Safari Camp | Sabi SandsKendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Guide to join a prestigious luxury safari camp in the Sabi Sands, Mpumalanga
.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable guiding professional with strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional safari experiences.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the guiding team to ensure consistently high standards of guiding and guest service.
Conduct exceptional game drives and interpretive experiences for international and local guests.
Ensure all guiding activities are conducted safely, professionally and in accordance with reserve regulations.
Mentor, coach and develop junior guides, encouraging continuous improvement and professional growth.
Maintain excellent knowledge of the local fauna, flora, ecology, conservation and surrounding environment.
Assist with the planning and coordination of daily guiding operations.
Build strong relationships with guests and create memorable, personalised safari experiences.
Work closely with lodge management and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Maintain high standards of vehicle presentation, equipment and guiding areas.
Take responsibility for ensuring that all relevant guiding and safety procedures are followed.
RequirementsPrevious experience in a senior guiding or Head Guide capacity within a luxury safari environment.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent knowledge of the Sabi Sands and surrounding ecosystems would be highly advantageous.
FGASA qualifications and relevant guiding credentials.
Valid First Aid certification.
Professional and confident communication skills.
A passion for wildlife, conservation and luxury hospitality.
A guest-focused approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
The ability to remain calm, organised and professional in a demanding operational environment.
A valid driver's licence and PDP would be advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and a hands‑on approach to lodge operations.
Accommodation: Live-in.
