Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to appoint, on behalf of our client, a Payroll Administrator based in Tygervalley .
- Ensure the timeous and accurate end-to-end processing of payroll for 600+ employees on Sage People/ESS.
- Maintain and administer payroll and leave management systems.
- Administer and maintain leave records, including maternity leave and UIF documentation.
- Accurately process new and temporary employees, transfers, promotions, terminations, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Process monthly earnings and deductions accurately, including advances, back pay, overtime, medical aid, bonuses, incentives, commissions (recurring and once-off), reimbursements, garnishees, loans, allowances (cell phone, vehicle, fuel, standby), company vehicle usage, fines, interest on loans, retirement annuities, and unpaid leave.
- Administer and maintain employee benefits in line with Employee Benefit Committee decisions, Fund rules, and the Company Remuneration Policy.
- Capture and maintain payroll data, including cost centres, Employment Equity (EE) information, and Employment Tax Incentive (ETI) details.
- Liaise with staff and management regarding payroll and employee benefit-related queries.
- Provide advice to employees on company policies and procedures where applicable.
- Manage and execute month-end and year-end payroll and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly mandatory payroll journals and payments, including PAYE, UIF, SDL, and third-party payments.
- Reconcile payroll-related General Ledger accounts.
- Ensure accurate and timeous preparation and submission of ad hoc, monthly, and annual HR reports.
- Maintain and update employee records on the payroll and internal HR systems.
- Escalate client or work-related issues to the Supervisor or Manager as required.
- Assist with payroll or HR-related projects as assigned.
- Matric Qualification
- Diploma or Tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
Experience: - Minimum 5 years´ working experience on a payroll (Sage People – Essential) and HR systems.
- Experience in a financial services environment will be advantageous. Skills/
Competencies: - Software: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
- Sound knowledge and experience in payroll (Sage People/ESS) processing.
- Sound knowledge and experience of PAYE and statutory compliance and understanding of employee benefits.
- Sound knowledge and experience of payroll reconciliation processes.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll-related legislation.
- Analysing information, data entry skills, general math skills, and reporting skills. Behavioural
