Senior Payroll Specialist

Location: Hermon, Winelands, Western Cape
Salary: Up to R50,000 – R60,000 per month (depending on experience)

An established organisation based in the Hermon, Winelands, Western Cape is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to take full ownership of payroll operations.

This is a hands-on, on-site role suited to an experienced payroll professional who can manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensure statutory compliance, and act as the payroll subject matter expert within the business.

• Full end-to-end payroll processing (monthly and/or weekly payrolls)

• Accurate calculation of salaries, overtime, commissions, deductions, and benefits

• Management of PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP
  201, EMP
  501, IRP5 submissions

• Ensure compliance with all South African payroll legislation and SARS requirements

• Manage time & attendance integration and payroll reconciliations

• Process new hires, terminations, promotions, and payroll adjustments

• Handle garnishees, provident fund, medical aid, and other third-party payments

• Conduct monthly payroll reconciliations and variance analysis

• Prepare year-end payroll reconciliations and tax submissions

• Manage payroll audits and respond to internal/external audit queries

• Maintain strict confidentiality and payroll data integrity

• Provide payroll reporting to Finance and Management

• 5+ years solid payroll experience (senior-level exposure required)

• Proven experience with full payroll ownership

• Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and tax compliance

• Experience with payroll systems such as Sage VIP, Sage 300, Pastel, Pay Space, SAP or similar

• Strong reconciliation and reporting skills

• High attention to detail and numerical accuracy

• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines

• Must have own reliable vehicle

• Must reside in or near Hermon, Winelands, Western Cape

• Candidates commuting from Cape Town must be within reasonable driving distance and willing to travel daily

• Mature, professional, and highly discreet

• Strong problem-solving ability

• Comfortable working in a smaller town / close-knit business environment

• Able to operate independently without constant supervision
