Site Manager – Mining and Metals - Vanderbijlpark

Our client, a leading steel manufacturing company with a strong global footprint in the steelworks industry, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee operations at their Vanderbijlpark site. This role is ideal for a strong leader with extensive site management experience, particularly in heavy equipment / yellow equipment environments, and a proven ability to drive safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily site activities to ensure safety, productivity, and compliance.
• Compile and present detailed operational and compliance reports.
• Foster a high-performance culture through employee motivation and development.
• Enforce discipline and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with technical and support teams to optimize site performance.
• Analyse equipment performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with operations to minimise downtime and production losses.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and legal requirements.
• Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, forecasts, and cost-control measures.

Requirements

• 7+ years’ experience as a Site Manager, ideally in yellow equipment / heavy equipment / steelworks / industrial environments.
• Matric / Grade 12.
• Project Management and/or Engineering qualification.
• Proven project management experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Strong technical reporting and communication skills.
