General Manager – Road Construction

Area: Ekurhuleni Gauteng

Salary: R960k CTC (negotiable)

Purpose of the position:
The role oversees all functional management areas to ensure efficient operations, profitable outcomes, and consistent delivery of high quality services which also include compliance with regulatory, quality, customer, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

o Provide overall leadership for all sites

Financial Management

o Develop, monitor and manage annual operating and capital budgets.

Operational Overview

o Ensure projects and testing services are delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed turnaround times.

Quality and Compliance.

o Ensure compliance with ISO standards, SANAS accreditation requirements and company quality management systems.

Human Resources and Labour Compliance.

o Lead, develop and manage multidisciplinary teams across the site.

Client and Stakeholder Management.

o Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory bodies.

Risk and Performance Management

o Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all SHEQ policies.

Performance Management & Reporting

o Develop and monitor operational KPIs across all departments.

Skills Experience and qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering

• 10 years Construction Management experience

• Technical

Skills:

Quality, Financial, Contractual and Labour management.

• Construction materials testing experience

• Full site Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability.

• ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and SANAS accreditation.

• Contract management and commercial negotiations.

• SHEQ management within a construction environment.

• Strategic planning and business development.

• Relationship management with consulting engineers, contractors and government entities.
