TMM Fleet Manager

TMM Fleet Manager required in Krugersdorp, West Rand.

Minimum Requirements:

• Reliable and accountable, with good communication skills and attention to detail
• Strong leadership & problem-solving ability, with conflict management- & team management skills
• Grade 12 / Matric + TMM related training and competency certification obtained
• Tertiary qualification in TMM (Trackless Mobile Machinery), Plant Management, Mining, Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Mechanic or similar
• 5 to 8 years recent relevant experience in TMM/Fleet management, specifically within a mining or heavy-equipment operations environment a must
• Minimum 3 years recent experience in a supervisory / management capacity essential, including operational reporting and KPI management
• Strong knowledge & experience in safety, maintenance, operator management, productivity and compliance requirements
• Computer literate in MS Office and operational reporting systems
• Experience in managing multiple types of heavy mobile equipment, preventative maintenance and breakdown management
• Experience with safety management and incident investigations, and managing operators & technical personnel
• Good knowledge of TMM Fleet management (including fuel & fleet cost management), heavy mobile equipment operations, mining safety regulations (Risk assessment & hazard identification, machinery inspections etc.)
• Valid driver’s license a must
• Stable employment record and contactable References
• Residing near Krugersdorp (within daily commuting distance)
• No lawful termination at any previous employer due to misconduct or non-performance
• To start as soon as possible

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overall management, safety, availability, reliability, utilisation and productivity of Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) fleet at Mogale Mining site
• Ensure all TMM operations are conducted safely, efficiently and in accordance with applicable legislation, mining requirements, company policies, manufacturer specifications, site rules and contractual obligations and consistently enforce operational standards.
• Ensure machinery is properly maintained, legally and operationally fit for use, operated by competent and authorised employees, and available to support production and operational requirements.
• Full TMM Fleet Management (ensure optimal availability and utilisation, monitor machine productivity & machine activities on site etc.)
• Health & Safety (Including incident/accident investigations, safety inspections and operational audits)
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance
• Ensure Operators competency and authorisation
• Ensure maintenance and mechanical reliability (monitor breakdowns & mechanical failures, develop preventative maintenance schedules etc.)
• Monitor production and productivity (product targets, machine performance and utilisation etc.)
• Fuel management
• Financial & Cost Management (manage TMM operational budget and equipment operating costs, maintenance and repair expenditure, contractor and service-provider costs etc.)
• Staff management (including performance reviews, manage absenteeism & misconduct/poor performance etc.)
• Reporting (TMM, Machine utilisation, breakdowns & maintenance, fuel consumption, operator attendance, inspection & incident, operational reports etc.)

Salary: R30 000 – R40 000 gross (depending on experience).
