About the Role
Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Farm Operations Manager to lead the agricultural activities at their expansive property near Klerksdorp . This role demands strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of agricultural operations, and the ability to manage resources efficiently. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the farm, from crop cultivation and maintenance to staff management and budget control.
The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, implement best practices, and ensure the farm's profitability and sustainability within the North West region, contributing significantly to local food production.
- Manage and direct all daily farm operations, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting.
- Supervise, train, and motivate a team of farm workers, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety standards.
- Develop and manage the farm's operational budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
- Maintain and repair farm equipment and infrastructure, ensuring optimal operational condition.
- Implement and oversee pest and disease management programs for crops.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural regulations and environmental standards.
- A degree or relevant qualification in Agriculture or Farm Management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a farm management or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of crop production cycles and farming techniques relevant to the region.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and operational resources effectively.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work extended hours during planting and harvesting seasons.
