Job Responsibilities

• Ensure Customer Satisfaction

• Assist with preparation, cooking, and plating of meals for the clubhouse restaurant, halfway house, bar service, and functions
• Support food service during peak periods, club events, and golf tournaments
• Ensure all dishes meet the club’s quality, portion, and presentation standards
• Accurately measure meal ingredients
• Season different meats as well as wash, peel and chop vegetables and fruit
• Prepare basic salads and sauces
• Plate and present meal items

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
• Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations in line with South African legislation
• Ensure correct food storage, stock rotation (FIFO), and temperature control
• Assist with receiving, checking, and storing supplier deliveries

• Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service
• Assist with training and supervising junior kitchen staff and kitchen assistants when required
• Communicate effectively with front‑of‑house staff to support efficient service delivery

• Assist with stock control, portion control, and minimising food wastage
• Support basic stock takes and inventory management
• Use ingredients responsibly to support cost‑effective kitchen operations

• Assist with functions when required
• Assist with outside catering when required

• Grade 10
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
