External Sales Representative required in Boksburg.
An established supplier within the packaging and distribution sector is seeking a results-driven External Sales Representative to grow and manage its customer base through face-to-face selling.
This role is focused on building strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
Operating primarily in the field, the position requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who is comfortable managing a territory, engaging directly with clients, and contributing market insights to support overall business growth
Salary: R20 000 basic + R4 500 car allowance + commission.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience in external / field sales
- B2B sales experience (non-negotiable)
- Experience with in the packaging industry (advantageous)
- Strong prospecting and new business development capability
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Strong organisational and territory management skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Own reliable vehicle
- Valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prospect and generate new business through cold visits, referrals, networking, and follow-ups
- Conduct face-to-face client meetings to understand customer needs and present suitable solutions
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients as the primary point of contact
- Perform needs analysis and deliver solution-based selling rather than product-only sales
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and close sales agreements
- Plan routes and manage a defined geographic or customer-based sales territory
- Grow existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and ongoing client engagement
- Ensure customer satisfaction and retention post-sale
- Gather and report market, pricing, and competitor intelligence
- Maintain accurate reporting of visits, opportunities, forecasts, and pipeline activity
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including customer service and operations
