Responsibilities
- Actively engaging and selling GI products and solutions to retail merchants to deliver sales revenue and ensure that order placements are met.
- Building sustainable customer relationships to maximise market advantage by engaging with retail merchants, their sales teams, and contractors/developers to secure opportunities and implement end‑user agreements.
- Articulating how our offer stands out, providing technical expertise and advice on the advantages of our comprehensive product to communicate the value proposition to customers.
- Proactively identifying new opportunities for enhanced product offerings through trained techniques, supply‑chain knowledge, commercial awareness, and in‑depth knowledge of customers’ businesses.
- Enhancing product mix to add value for the customer base in alignment with company strategy.
- Achieving local demand forecasts in line with regional KPIs.
- Maintaining awareness of broader SG propositions to pass on potential opportunities.
- Assisting marketing to launch new products to merchant, contractor, and developer customer groups.
- Giving presentations to the regional team and to the customer base on all aspects of product/system performance.
- Merchandising as required to display a complete, understandable product offering to the end user.
- Updating CRM with visits, projects, customer information, and market intelligence to enable accurate business decisions.
We are seeking a candidate that has a minimum matric and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and at least three years’ experience in a customer‑facing role. The role requires strong commercial awareness – ability to identify opportunities and act. Proven technical competence – understanding of technical concepts and ability to translate for commercial benefit – and an excellent track record and knowledge of retail account planning and execution.
Construction market experience and knowledge are critical for this role.
