Sales Agent Responsibilities

Sales agents are responsible for building and maintaining their own client base, marketing and selling the Old Mutual products, and contributing to the financial wellbeing of the community.

• Matric (Grade 12) certificate
• Clear credit and criminal record
• 6–12 months of sales or retail experience (advantageous but not essential)
• Proven digital literacy (e.g., MS Office, Whats App)
• Excellent communication, numeracy and customer service skills
• High energy, goal‑driven and self‑motivated
• Attention to detail, resilience and ability to handle pressure
• Trustworthy, time‑management and decision‑making skills

• Accounting, Action Planning, Computer Literacy, Data Analysis, Database Reporting
• Evaluation of Information, Management Reporting, Numerical Aptitude, Oral Communications
• Professional Presentation, Report Review, Sales Software, Statistical Analysis Techniques
• Communicates Effectively, Customer Focus, Decision Quality, Ensures Accountability
• Manages Complexity, Optimizes Work Processes, Plans and Aligns, Tech‑savvy

Preference will be given to suitably qualified candidates in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question. The appointment will be made from the designated group under the same plan.
