Location: Germiston

Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven External Sales Representative to join our Western Cape team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales of our comprehensive product portfolio—including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), welding products, and power tools—to retail chain stores, B2B customers, and distributors across the assigned territory. This role combines technical knowledge with strategic account management to expand our market presence and build lasting partnerships with key customers.

Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets within the assigned territory
  • Identify, prospect, and onboard new customers within the assigned territory
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and account implementation
  • Present product demonstrations and technical solutions to buyers, category managers, and senior decision-makers
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
Account Management & Relationship Building
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
  • Conduct regular business reviews with accounts to assess performance, identify needs, and recommend solutions
Product & Technical Expertise
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of PPE, welding products, and power tool lines
  • Provide technical guidance and product training to end users
  • Gather and relay market feedback to internal product and marketing teams
Operational Excellence
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and territory analyses
  • Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, customer service, marketing) to ensure seamless account execution
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and company meetings as required
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including expense management
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of external sales experience, preferably in industrial supplies, safety products, welding, or power tools
  • Proven track record of selling to retail chains, big-box retailers, B2B, or industrial distributors
  • Experience with long sales cycles and complex multi-location account management
