Pump Internal Sales

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inbound customer enquiries relating to pumps, pump spares and accessories
• Advise customers on correct pump selection based on application, flow and pressure requirements
• Compile and follow up on quotations, driving conversion to sales orders
• Process orders on the ERP/inventory system and monitor delivery timelines
• Coordinate with suppliers and principals on pricing, availability and lead times
• Support external sales representatives with technical and pricing information
• Identify opportunities to upsell related products (seals, motors, spares, instrumentation)
• Maintain up-to-date customer records, pricing lists and sales activity reports
• Handle warranty queries, returns and after-sales support related to pump products

• Matric / Grade 12; a mechanical or related technical qualification advantageous
• Minimum 2-3 years' internal sales experience in pumps or industrial/technical equipment distribution
• Sound technical knowledge of centrifugal, positive displacement or submersible pumps and their applications
• Working knowledge of an ERP/stock management system (e.g. Syspro, Pastel, SAP)
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Valid driver's licence advantageous

• Strong technical and product knowledge with the ability to translate this into customer solutions
• Excellent telephonic and face-to-face customer service skills
• Accurate quoting and order-processing ability under time pressure
• Good negotiation, follow-up and relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated and target-driven
• Collaborative, works well with external sales and technical teams
