About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to lead their analytical services in Vereeniging . This role is vital for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of products through rigorous chemical analysis. You will be responsible for developing, validating, and implementing analytical methods, managing laboratory operations, and providing critical data to support research, development, and quality control departments. Key Responsibilities- Develop and validate analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
- Perform routine and complex chemical analyses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and resolve method-related issues.
- Manage laboratory inventory, calibration schedules, and reagent management.
- Prepare detailed analytical reports and provide technical support to other departments.
- Mentor and train junior analytical chemists and technicians.
- Master's or PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in analytical chemistry, preferably within a regulated industry.
- Extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of analytical techniques including HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, and titration.
- Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical evaluation.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
