Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Production Geologist to contribute to their operational success in Klerksdorp . This role focuses on optimizing resource extraction and ensuring accurate geological modeling for ongoing mining operations. You will work closely with engineers and geologists to manage mine planning, monitor geological conditions, and advise on operational adjustments to maximize yield and safety. This is a key position within the Oil & Gas and mining sector, requiring a deep understanding of subsurface geology and its practical application in resource development within the North West province.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain detailed geological models of ore bodies and hydrocarbon reservoirs.
- Provide geological input for mine planning, stope design, and production scheduling.
- Monitor geological conditions in active mining areas and advise on stability and safety.
- Analyze drill core and sample data to reconcile geological models with actual mine conditions.
- Collaborate with surveying and engineering teams to ensure accurate spatial data integration.
- Prepare geological reports, maps, and cross-sections for operational and strategic purposes.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related earth science discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in production geology, preferably within a mining environment.
- Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Micromine, Datamine).
- Strong understanding of structural geology , mineralogy, and resource estimation techniques.
- Experience with data management and interpretation of geological datasets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
