Senior Exploration Geochemist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly analytical and experienced Senior Exploration Geochemist to join their exploration team in Benoni . This role is critical in identifying and evaluating new mineral prospects by designing and interpreting geochemical surveys. You will be responsible for developing sampling methodologies, managing laboratory analyses, and integrating geochemical data with geological information to guide exploration efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of geochemical principles, advanced statistical analysis techniques, and a proven track record in mineral exploration, contributing significantly to the discovery of new resource opportunities for the company.

• Design and implement comprehensive geochemical exploration programs , including soil, stream sediment, and rock chip sampling.
• Manage and oversee the collection, preparation, and analysis of geochemical samples.
• Interpret geochemical data using statistical and multivariate analysis techniques to identify mineralized zones.
• Integrate geochemical results with geological, geophysical, and other exploration data to generate high-quality targets.
• Prepare detailed geochemical reports and present findings to exploration teams and management.
• Stay current with advancements in geochemical exploration techniques and methodologies.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geochemistry, Exploration Geochemistry, or a related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral exploration geochemistry.
• Expertise in statistical analysis and data visualization software (e.g., R, Python, ioGAS).
• Strong understanding of analytical techniques and quality control in geochemical laboratories.
• Experience with various mineral deposit styles and their associated geochemical signatures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
