Research Scientist - Environmental Chemistry

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic Research Scientist to join their Environmental Chemistry division in Benoni . This role is focused on investigating and mitigating environmental pollutants, developing innovative solutions for environmental remediation, and contributing to sustainable practices. You will conduct rigorous scientific research, analyze environmental samples, and contribute to impactful publications and projects within our Scientific Research & Development initiatives.

The ideal candidate is passionate about environmental science and possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Conduct laboratory and field studies to assess environmental contamination and its impact.
• Develop and validate analytical methods for detecting and quantifying environmental pollutants.
• Analyze environmental samples (water, soil, air) using advanced instrumentation.
• Research and propose innovative strategies for pollution control and remediation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex environmental challenges.
• Prepare technical reports, scientific publications, and grant proposals.

• Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant research experience in environmental science.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques such as GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS, and spectrophotometry.
• Experience with environmental modeling or risk assessment is a plus.
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for research dissemination in Benoni .
