About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Chemist specializing in Analytical Development to join their sophisticated R&D laboratory in Nelspruit . This role is vital for establishing and validating analytical methods for new chemical entities and ensuring the quality and consistency of pharmaceutical products. You will leverage your expertise in advanced analytical techniques to support drug development pipelines. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned chemist to contribute to critical scientific advancements in a dedicated laboratory setting, playing a key role in ensuring product integrity and regulatory compliance within the scenic region of Mpumalanga .

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods (e.g., HPLC, GC, MS, spectroscopy) for drug substances and products.
  • Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing to support research, development, and quality control.
  • Characterize chemical impurities and degradation products using advanced analytical techniques.
  • Write detailed method validation reports and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and method-related issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including formulation scientists and quality assurance.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical method development and validation in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, GC, Mass Spectrometry, and various spectroscopic methods.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH) for analytical method validation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and scientific documentation.
