Senior Geoscientist - Data Analysis & Interpretation

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geoscientist to join their exploration team in Benoni . This role focuses on advanced data analysis and interpretation, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to evaluate subsurface potential in the oil and gas sector . You will be instrumental in integrating geological, geophysical, and reservoir data to build robust subsurface models, identify promising exploration targets, and assess existing asset performance.

Working within a collaborative environment in the Gauteng province , you will contribute critical insights that shape the company's strategic exploration and development decisions. This position requires a strong analytical mindset and a passion for uncovering the Earth's hidden resources.

• Integrate and interpret diverse geoscience data sets, including seismic, well logs, core data, and production information.
• Develop and validate sophisticated subsurface models using advanced interpretation software.
• Identify and evaluate exploration opportunities, conducting detailed risk and uncertainty assessments.
• Collaborate closely with reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and management to support decision‑making.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, maps, and presentations for internal reviews and external stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in geoscience data analysis and interpretation.

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in exploration geoscience, with a strong emphasis on data integration and interpretation.
• Expert proficiency with industry-standard geoscience software packages (e.g., Petrel, Decision Space).
• Solid understanding of seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and geological modeling techniques.
• Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
