Artisan Boilermaker

Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Artisan Boilermaker to be placed in Tharisa Mine. The successful candidate will report to the Foreman Engineering. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

• Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairs
• Effective self and team supervision in alignment with Cementation Africa values and leadership initiatives
• Effective stakeholder engagement
• Engineering installations are constructed according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
• Engineering equipment is maintained according to agreed standards, procedures and schedules
• Engineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standards, procedures and schedules
• Compliance with SHEQ, Cementaion Africa and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
• Section 26 Boilermaker Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade Certificate through a registered body, e.g.: (i) Olifantsfontein, pre 1994 (ii) ESTC (Engineering Skills Training Centre) James Park (iii) GFA (Goldfields Training Academy)
• Contract of Apprenticeship signed off by employer and Department of Manpower
• Good communication skill in English
• Valid Code EB driver's license
• Valid First Aid certificate
• Medically fit to work underground

• 5 year's mining industry experience (underground and surface)
• 5 year's trade experience as a Boilermaker
