Maintenance Electrician (Band 5 + RRP)

Location:

Foresterhill Site, Aberdeen (may also be required to undertake duties across other areas of NHS Grampians estate).

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of plant and electrical equipment.
• Perform maintenance on HVAC, motor control circuits, motors, fans, control panels, distribution systems, lighting, catering equipment and portable electrical appliances.
• Use a variety of electrical test equipment such as insulation resistance testers, multimeters, etc.
• Participate in a 24‑hour on‑call rota.

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience as a maintenance electrician working with HVAC, motor controls, motors, fans, control panels, distribution systems, lighting, catering equipment and portable electrical appliances.
• Experience using insulation resistance testers, multimeters and other electrical test equipment.
• Current full driving licence.
• An Electrical Gold Card would be beneficial, though applicants without this will also be considered.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
