The Semi‑Skilled Welder will play a pivotal role by assisting the Support Team by manufacturing, repairing, building or altering all metal work components as required.

• Perform welding activities using Arc and C02 welding processes.
• Read and interpret drawings and welding instructions.
• Cut, grind, and prepare materials for welding.
• Assemble and fabricate metal components and structures.
• Repair damaged metal parts and structures.
• Inspect welds for quality and compliance with specifications.
• Operate welding equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.

• Ensure all superiors are notified in a timely manner regarding aspects of your areas as deemed necessary by them.
• Deal with personnel matters such as reporting incidents, customer complaints, requesting new employees, extension of contracts and terminations to your manager.
• Ensure your manager is informed of all staff‑related matters that will affect the organization in a dire manner immediately (e.g. IR).

• Ensure all subordinates and colleagues are up‑skilled and ensure transference of skills through mentorship and coaching.
• Provide training and guidance for new employees and ensure they are assisted.

• Any other reasonable adhoc duty as required or requested by management.
• It should be noted that individuals may need to expand their roles/scope to cover the workload of other employees in times of high work loads or individuals who may be absent from work. This is the sole discretion of management.

• Grade 12 [Std
  10] or Equivalent
• 3 – 5 Years experience in a similar role
• Residing in Germiston Area Advantageous
