Industry: Mining Location: Vereeniging, Gauteng or Rustenburg, North West (with travel to various sites)

Our client in the mining industry is seeking an experienced and qualified Trackmaster to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing railway track construction, maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure safe and efficient rail operations at various mining sites. This role requires a hands‑on individual who is willing to travel and work away from home when required.

• Supervise and coordinate railway track construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects.

• Conduct inspections of railway tracks, turnouts, crossings, and associated infrastructure.

• Identify defects and implement corrective maintenance to ensure track safety and compliance.

• Ensure all work is carried out according to Transnet, mining, and industry standards.

• Lead and supervise track maintenance teams on‑site.

• Plan and allocate resources, equipment, and manpower effectively.

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

• Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and project records.

• Liaise with site management and other departments to coordinate rail maintenance activities.

• Participate in emergency repairs and breakdowns when required.

• Be available to travel and work away from home on various mining projects.

• Trackmaster Diploma obtained through Transnet or R&H (Robor/Rand & Herring).

• Minimum 5 years' proven experience as a Trackmaster within the railway, mining, or heavy industrial sector.

• Medically fit and able to work in a mining environment.

• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.

• Reside in or near Vereeniging or Rustenburg

• Willing and able to work away from home for extended periods when required.

• Must be medically fit for mining operations.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Willingness to travel extensively and work at remote mine sites.
